Daily Prompt: Fright Night

What’s the thing you’re most scared to do? What would it take to get you to do it?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us FRIGHTENING.

One thing I am most afraid to do is using a pair of scissors to cut up anything big which can be mutilated. In simple words, whenever I am required to cut up a piece of paper, bandage, or even a spare-bit-of-cloth-to-mop-up-the-spills, I would ask someone else to do the honours and gladly take the cut-up thing from them and use it. In case of papers, I will gladly use a scale as a support and ………..kkkkkkkkrrchhhhhh………..voilà, I remove or take out the desired part, but when it comes to a cloth piece or stuff.. I am all like, “This job is designed for you, thanks”, to anyone nearby.

Daily Prompt: Land of Confusion

Tell us about a time when you felt out of place.

Photographers, artists, poets: show us CONFUSION.

As with most of the people, I feel like a fish out of water at times whenever we are visited by any of our relatives, or if, by an unavoidable circumstance, I am made to visit the relatives.

I simply cannot explain the awkwardness, the way they all seem to look at you as though you are an alien, and that typical dialogue,” You’ve grown so much!!”, makes me want to respond, “Actually, I didn’t have had a lot of choice for that aunty!!” But I cannot. Moreover, you are forced to smile every few minute at the face of a glaring relative, only to make sure they don’t that you are off colour, bored, sleepy, or anything of the sort. In short, such visits can be excruciatingly confusing, as you have nothing to talk about, yet you are bound to show that you are having the time of your life..

Daily Prompt: Love to Love You

What do you love most about yourself? What do you love most about your favorite person? Are the two connected?

What I love about myself is the fact that I can be organized to a good extent, so I try to keep my stuff, my room, my cupboards all clean.

Now, about my favourite person, that is to say my mother, even though I love everything about her, the best thing is that she keeps her head cool and impartial at all times, making her capable of making choices, which do not cross our minds under pressured or normal conditions. The ways we are correlated by this are:

  • Whenever I get well out of even my own control in arranging my siblings’ stuff, she cools me down.
  • Also that due to a systematic mind, she herself arranges all that stuff of mine which I don’t bother to touch.
  • And another thing which I am proud to have similar to my mom’s yet not relatable to this post is that my cooking flavours are similar to her’s.. 🙂

Daily Prompt: Connect the Dots

Scour the news for an entirely uninteresting story. Consider how it connects to your life. Write about that.

Photographers, artists, poets: show us a CONNECTION.

The news piece referred here is of a typhoon Haiyan in Philippines,  even though it sounds extremely in sensitive to say that one is unconcerned about such a natural disaster. I couldn’t help finding myself unconcerned, yet related to this news. The reason is that I have my exams in almost a week, and I think that right now, it is no less than a sort of storm to me. I haven’t prepared the whole semester and now that I am starting to prepare, I have had a headache in my left temple and its absolutely stopping me from studying, making my worries and headache go proportionally high.

Daily Prompt: Google and Rescue Operation

What was the last thing you searched for online? Why were you looking for it?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us SEARCHING.

Last thing I searched on google was the recipe for making a lasagna. I do have a rough idea how to make it, but since I just make it once a year, I don’t remember the recipe and I don’t bother to write it either. Even did I search for it, I didn’t follow a single one, but did something on my own, taking a guide from my mother and it did turn out well. 🙂

This isn't the one I made, I took the photo from GOOGLE;) I forgot to take the picture actually.
